Less expenditure and less maintenance
An incandescent bulb has to be replaced about every 6 months. An
LED fixture lasts about 11 years, saving the cost of labour involved in
replacing bulbs every six months or so. Here's a calculation to
illustrate the above points:
BC Hydro calculates that an incandescent
EXIT sign costs about $11.00 per year in electricity. A comparable LED
EXIT sign costs about $1.30 in electricity annually. And that is a very
small sign. Saving over the 11 year life of the sign about $106.00 in
electricity alone for a single sign. Multiply by the number of signs in
a business.
